An Update
Hey Everyone! Happy Thorium Thursday.
I'll cut right to the chase - I lost my job two weeks ago. It was wholly unexpected and left me in a bit of a shock. Fortunately, we've got money enough stashed away to make ends meet until I find a new job.
What does this mean for Thorium Nova? Well, that isn't entirely clear. For now I'm taking a break from Thorium Nova so I can focus on the job search, make myself more attractive to prospective companies, and spend time with my family. And once I find a job, there's no telling how my new responsibilities will affect how much time I can devote to Thorium Nova development.
The good news is that Thorium Nova is still a community-run, open-source project. That means anyone can pick up the torch and keep development moving forward. Maybe you?
While I'm not going to be directly contributing to the codebase, I will still be able to help you find your own ways to contribute. Feel free to reply to this email or reach out on Discord and I'll do my best to get you going in the right direction.
This isn't the end of Thorium Nova, but I can't say how long my hiatus will be this time. Needless to say, it's unlikely I'll be gone forever. But it might be a little while before you hear from me again.
In any case, I hope you all are doing well. If you want to talk more, you know where to find me.
Alex
