Thorium Nova Alpha 8 - Bug Fixes

Alex Anderson 🚀Alex Anderson 🚀, January 19, 2023

Hello everyone! Happy Thorium Thursday!

It's time for a new alpha, this time focusing on bug fixes and enhancements instead of new features, and there's a slew of them! Huge thanks to AdminAnonymous for recording a usability test which helped identify many of these bugs.

You can find the release notes and download links here: https://github.com/Thorium-Sim/thorium-nova/releases/tag/v1.0.0-alpha.8

I think it makes a lot of sense to do a tick-tock release schedule, where every even alpha is bug fixes and improvements and odd alphas are big new features. We'll see how long that lasts.

What that means is that I need bug reports! If there's anything you find that feels broken or clunky, report it on Github or Discord, or just shoot me an email. I'd be happy to triage those issues for alpha 10.

Also, alpha 9 is under active development. You can find the planned features here: https://github.com/Thorium-Sim/thorium-nova/issues/471

Interested in contributing? Hop into Discord and say hello! Just yesterday Tanner and I spent some time going over some ways he could contribute. I'm more than happy to help anyone interested get up to speed on the project.

And contributions don't have to be code. AdminAnonymous and Lilah have started developing the narrative universe in this Github repo: https://github.com/Thorium-Sim/thorium-narrative. If you're interested in storytelling and world building, feel free to hop in!

That's all for this week. I wish you all a most exquisite feeling of sondor.
